Orthodontics or Braces
Oral prophylaxis- commonly known as teeth cleaning involves removal of plaque and tartar which accumulates in areas that regular oral hygiene measures may not reach. Extrinsic stains caused by smoking or by drinking coffee, tea and etc. is removed by simple stain removal procedures.
Restorative fillings- it is a procedure to restore the tooth that has a cavity or small fracture using tooth-colored fillings, making the tooth as functional as it was.
Composite bonding and sculpting- enhances the appearance of the teeth, especially the front, in just one visit. Procedure involves removal of the discoloration and preparing the cavity for the placement of the tooth-colored resin composite, and is then sculpted making the filling appears natural. This procedure is also applicable for closing gaps in between teeth and is called as diastema closure.
Topical Fluoride Application- fluoride is necessary for making the teeth stronger, remineralizing weakened areas which is an early stage of cavities. Open tubules on the tooth leading to sensitivity, could also be treated with fluoride. Fluoride comes in different forms and is present in toothpaste and mouthwash, but professionally applied fluoride differs from the commercially available fluorides by its concentration. Professionally applied fluoride in the form of gel and varnish is more effective and stays in place longer.
Tooth extraction- when the tooth is no longer restorable or has a poor prognosis, extraction is indicated. Tooth extraction is a process of removing a tooth under local anesthesia. The area extracted is allowed to heal prior to replacing the missing tooth.
